Promise of a New Day…
After a solid week of eating fudge, cookies, ham, casseroles, cake, chips, dips, homemade pizza, full-fledged-sausage-gravy-biscuit breakfasts, those butter cookies in the blue tin, candy and any other food that was unlucky enough to wander into my house…I am giving up eating from now until the end of time. I realize I will probably cave within 2 minutes of publishing this post (afterall, leftover ham on a roll won’t eat itself).
This is a normal part of my post-Christmas routine. The excuse to eat garbage and lay on the couch is over, the promise of a new year and new beginnings is imminent. The few days between holly jolly and auld lang syne feel like a good staging ground for a great upcoming year.
For me, 2013 looks to be the year I will write at least a couple of more books. It’s the year I will go to my very first writer’s conference, and the year my girlfriends and I will go on our third NKOTB cruise (yes it is a real thing, yes it is worth the money, yes I am a huge nerd). A few friends will have new little ones coming into the world, a few other friends will be walking down the aisle.
There are alot of unknowns in the upcoming year, and that makes me excited. Maybe an agent will like the MS I am currently querying…maybe I will find a job I don’t loathe…and maybe, JUST MAYBE, the Tennessee Volunteers will have a good football season…
What are all of you hoping to see in your 2013?

I believe that that winter in the season to pig out. I would love to reread The Hobbit next year(The movie was beautiful) Thank you for following
I see you are a writer which is good because the world needs more writers.
Thanks! I too love the Hobbit, and thought the movie was wonderful…it is definitely one to read and re-read.
I hope to finish my book…. I also hope to make a respectable dent in the books I bought but didn’t read this year. I also really really hope I get into one of the postgrad programs I applied to :p
Good luck with yours!
I need to read the books I have stacking up as well! Good luck with the postgrad apps!
